iPhone app used to create New Yorker Magazine cover...

This story immediately caught my eye in my unwieldy "News" feed. The video at the link is pretty awesome, and the auther of the piece raises the questions that popped into my head when I read the headline:

  • If you've ever questioned the iPhone's viability as a bona-fide computing platform, this should remove all doubts. How long before someone authors a novel on one? Or composes a symphony? (Actually, a keyboard would really help with both. I'm thinking something Bluetooth. Anyone?)

But even beyond a "computing platform", which is powerful, this mobile device being used as an expressive instrument really gets me excited. I've been sticking with Sprint in advance of the Pre, but I may jump ship. That iPhone is neat (I know anyone who knows me is stunned I don't have one already...I do own a gen 1 iPod, two Newtons, an Apple 128k and a Mac II, among other artifacts).
