Well...sometimes anyway.
As we continue to progress throught the "new" marketing era...using blogposts, forums and incorporating social media into our marketing plans, it's comforting to realize that many, many of the same marketing basics still apply.
Positioning is still of vital importance. So is service---and service after the sale. Defining measurable objectives is still one of the first steps to a successful marketing campaign. And, good old Word-of-Mouth still makes or breaks a brand.If anything, these tenets are even more important now than ever. Through social media and other online vehicles, customers have a stronger voice and a more accelerated way of exerting influence than before. And they were a pretty powerful force before the internet.
